FNB Oxford, a local community bank which began in Oxford in 1910, has a fresh new look.

The former First National Bank of Oxford recently underwent a bank charter conversion, changing from a national bank to a state-chartered bank. As part of the conversion, new signage recently went up at all of FNB’s Oxford locations.

FNB Oxford President and CEO Johnny Barrett said the bank’s name ‘s the only thing that is changing for customers.

““FNB Oxford has been, and will continue to be, a local bank that serves local interests. We think that knowing customers well and knowing markets well is a great benefit for a local bank.”

Most importantly, Barrett added, “We believe that our local knowledge helps our customers. With the banking climate changing, our Board and management felt that a local regulator, that is very familiar with our markets, would similarly serve us better.

“We believe this conversion to a state charter will allow FNB Oxford to continue providing quality banking products and services to our customers into the future.”

In keeping with its community bank tradition, fresh popcorn still will be offered at the bank on Fridays.
