OHS Theater Arts Guild Raffling Guitar

Austin’s Music has donated a guitar to the Oxford High School Theater Arts Guild for the group to use in a raffle. The guitar is a G&L Legacy Tribute electric guitar (retail value $715). Raffle tickets are available at Austin’s Music (305 Heritage Drive) and from Oxford High School Theater students at a cost of $5 each or 3 for $10. P


“Proceeds from the raffle will go toward funding our regular season shows as well as an upcoming international performance,” says Melinda Redding, with the guild. “OHS Theater has been invited to perform in the 2014 international Fringe festival in Edinburgh, Scotland. This marks our fourth invitation to perform in this prestigious festival. Our most recently performed Fringe show (2012,The Talented Mr. Ripley, earned five stars from multiple reviewers at the festival and garnered accolades that no other high school production at the Festival has ever achieved.”


The currently scheduled shows for the guild’s 2013-2014 season at Oxford High School are as follows:


Grease: September 19-21


Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde: October 31-November 2


A Night at the Nutcracker (an original production): December 12-14


Eurydice: February 6-8


1776: April 3-5 (This will be the guild’s annual musical)


“Other fundraising plans include a rummage sale at the Oxford High School on Saturday, August 31 (raffle tickets will be available there as well) and possibly a Haunted House if we can find the appropriate building,” Redding says.
